| Identify the Warning Signs of Diabetes! |
|
Insulin is a hormone that plays a very important role in the human body. One of the major roles that it plays is to maintain a low blood glucose level. A tendency of blood glucose levels rising is certainly not a healthy one as it has adverse effects on our health. The National Diabetics Association Clearinghouse [NDIC] estimates that 14.6 million people in the US have diabetes, with another 6 million yet to be diagnosed. The total represents about 7% of the US population. This makes the issue of diabetes a serious and complex one. As per the NDIC, diabetes has spread in the US in epidemic proportions and has affected people across all ages. Even toddlers and children have not been spared. As per the statistics, people suffering from type 2 diabetes are in the age group of 35 to 50. The common warning signs of diabetes are extreme hunger and thirst, numbness, blurred vision, fatigue, dry skin, increase in infections and the slow process of the healing of wounds. People with type 1 diabetes may exhibit symptoms of nausea and vomiting. The important issue in diabetes is early management and treatment of the disease and its symptoms to rule out serious complications as the disease progresses. Related Articles
