| What Is Diabetes Mellitus? |
|
The studies show that about twenty million people have pre diabetes Mellitus. They get this because of high blood glucose levels which are caused by obesity. Lack of exercise and improper diet also lead to high blood glucose levels. As per the medical science reports, more than one hundred eighty thousand people may die this year all over the world due to diabetes. In order to monitor the insulin in your body, it is important to maintain the glucose level in your body. The food which you consume contains natural glucose which is also called simple sugar. Glucose gives energy to the body on regular basis and needs regulation in the blood stream which is done by the pancreas. Since pancreas produces insulin, the more glucose intake increases in the body, the more insulin is released by the pancreas to regulate it. The main problem starts when the body fails to produce the amount of insulin you need or does not produce enough insulin. Type two diabetes is called non insulin dependent diabetes Mellitus. This happens when pancreas cannot produce enough insulin. This is present in almost ninety percent diabetic cases and they are mostly above 40 years of age. Genetics plays an important role in type two diabetes. Related Articles
