| What Is Fructose Intolerance? |
|
Fructose intolerance is a very rare condition inherited and suffered by one in every 10,000 people. Under this condition, the body is unable to produce enzymes needed to breakdown fructose for further usage. Whether a child is suffering from fructose intolerance can be known when he starts having food. With the help of symptoms, one should immediately consult the doctor. It would be even better if a couple seeks counseling before going for a baby, if they have some record of fructose intolerance in their family history. The symptoms of fructose intolerance include, vomiting, abdominal pain, hypoglycemia, ingestion, jaundice, and convulsions. The only and main cure is to maintain a fructose-free diet. It is not that living on a fructose free diet is impossible, though it may be difficult. The tests which confirm fructose intolerance include liver, blood and genetic tests. Once a person is detected of it, he becomes a patient of it for his life. Related Articles
