| Diabetes Symptoms – Prevention Is Better than Cure |

A diabetic patient may experience symptoms such as excessive thirst, urination and hunger. Diabetes also compromises the body’s capability to cure wounds and ulcers. Other symptoms if diabetes includes fatigue, weight loss and irritability. Diabetes is basically of two types, namely, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a condition in which the body is incapable of manufacturing insulin. Type 2 diabetes is an acquired condition that is reversible in a large number of cases. The other form of Diabetes is called the Type 2 Diabetes. About 90% of diabetic patients are affected by type 2 diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes is because of the body’s resistance to insulin. This form of diabetes is basically an acquired form of the disease although genetic propensity may increase susceptibility. It is basically due to improper nutrition, high consumption of sugar based foods and beverages and a sedentary lifestyle. It can be controlled by controlling the factors that are responsible for the onset of the disease in the first place and in many cases can be reversed. Diabetes can be prevented but not cured. In order to prevent diabetes, it is necessary to monitor your diet, cut down or totally eliminate foods that either are rich in sugar or based on simple carbohydrates. Plenty of exercise and bringing down weight to manageable levels also help immensely in the management and prevention of the disease. Related Articles
