One of the main symptoms of diabetes is frequent urination, which, in medical terminology, is called polyuria. This symptom is exhibited by patients with untreated diabetes and is caused by the extra load that the kidneys have to take on because of high glucose levels in the blood. As a result of constant urination and loss of fluids, a diabetic may also exhibit excessive thirst or polydipsia. Foot sore and injuries take a long time to heal. As a result, diabetics have to be particularly conscious about the shoes that they wear and make sure that they are not too tight. The above symptoms are largely speaking in the case of untreated diabetes. If diabetes is managed properly, with proper nutrition and precautions in terms of diet, then these symptoms may be reduce to quite an extent.
