Type One Diabetes
Diabetes can be defined as a metabolic disorder that is characterized by high glucose. Diabetes arises from lack of or markedly decreased insulin secretion.

Type 1 diabetes is the most serious type of diabetes and is also called Juvenile diabetes. It occurs when the autoimmune system in our body does not produce enough insulin to combat the foreign bodies entering the bloodstream. It is caused by genetic and environmental factors and affects 2 to 3% of the diabetic population.

The three main types of diabetes:
    * Type 1 diabetes
    * Diabetes type 2
    * Gestational diabetes

In case of diabetes, the immune system of our body attacks the beta cells in the pancreas which are associated with insulin production and destroys them. The pancreas as a result, produce little or no insulin at all. A person who has type 1 diabetes has to take insulin daily in order to live.

Symptoms of type one diabetes develop within a short duration, though beta cell destruction could have begun years earlier. Symptoms include constant hunger, increased urination and thirst, blurred vision, weight loss and fatigue. If not treated with insulin, a person with type 1 diabetes can result into life-threatening coma.

The number of patients suffering from diabetes symptoms is staggering, one needs to pay attention to diabetes diet and exercise, because exercise helps your body to use insulin better to convert glucose into energy for cells.
