What Is Type I Diabeties? |

Diabeties (or as doctors call it diabeties
mellitus) is the disorder of the body to produce enough Insulin to
regulate the breakdown of the blood sugar in the human body and is
normally categorized in two main and one subcategory– Type I, Type II
diabetes and Gestational diabetes.
Type I
diabetes is also called Juvenile Diabetes and it occurs because the
human body's autoimmune system does not produce enough insulin to combat
the foreign bodies entering the bloodstream. It occurs when the immune
system of the body starts destroying healthy pancreatic cells located
above the kidneys which contain Pancreatic Islets. These Islets produce
the harmone Insulin which helps in moving glucose from digestive system
to the cells through the bloodstream.
During insufficient
production of insulin the glucose stays in the bloodstream and can cause
serious damage to the organs. Alternatively, due to its being in the
bloodstream, it is flushed out in large quantities thus making the body
weak as it is actually not getting any energy.
Type I diabetes
patients must take insulin regularly to stay alive and this is done in a
number of ways, some of which are insulin injections or insulin pump.
